State Research Freebie

We're doing a lesson on the 50 states and I was having a hard time finding a worksheet fit our needs. I am sure there is a paid unit study out there that would work great, but I'm cheap and have power point so I decided to make my own worksheet and share it here. I am using our state fact book for the kids but the mottoes aren't listed there so I found a printout with all the mottoes and gave it to the kids to use. It also serves as their checklist as they finish states because I am letting them pick their own order. The page I used with the mottoes is here and the you can grab my state research sheet here.

Small Break

I don't have a huge amount of followers yet and I am still building my free resources and researching sites to recommend, but I have been absent for a couple of weeks and I just wanted to share a little explanation. One of the best things about homeschooling is the flexibility and the ability to adjust to major changes. In the past month, I have taken on a second job and that has really limited any time for blogging because all my free time is devoted to taking care of boring chores and doing the planning necessary to keep schooling on track for my two kids. As I adjust to the new time limits, I plan to come back to my mission of regrowing the blog but in the meantime, I will most likely post sporadically or just share updates and links to great sites on my facebook page. Thanks for all the visits and downloads of my resources and I can't wait to get back to the fun of blogging about homeschooling!

Friday Freebie-Plural Nouns

We started this school year with some review and we need a refresher lesson on making nouns plural. I found some great printable rules but I wanted a worksheet for my youngest to do that combined the rules with her putting in some of the information because she is a fast reader and I wanted to make sure that she actually processed the information.
